Film includes: as musical supervisor and conductor: The Phantom of the Opera (nominated for three Academy Awards including Best Song, for which he composed the orchestration), Björk’s Vespertine Live at the Royal Opera House, Jesus Christ Superstar (Emmy Award 2001) and Cats. Television includes: Judge on How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? for CBC casting Maria for the Canadian version of this production. Recordings include: conducting albums with artists including José Carreras, Sarah Chang, Julian Lloyd Webber, Vincenzo La Scola, Elaine Paige, Michael Ball, Maria Friedman, Martine McCutcheon and, most recently, Andrea Ross, as well as numerous soundtrack recordings and cast albums. The year 2005 marked Simon’s debut with English National Opera, conducting Bernstein’s On the Town, which was followed in 2006 with The Mikado and On The Town and Kismet in 2007.
