David Ian Productions was founded in 2006 and is based in London's Covent Garden. In addition to The Sound of Music, the company currently produces and/or general manages Grease (Piccadilly Theatre, London), Gypsy (St James Theatre, Broadway\US) and the UK tour of Flashdance. 2008/2009 productions include: UK tours of The Sound of Music, Spamalot, Grease, Chicago, Cats in Germany, The Sound of Music in Toronto and the arena touring presentation of ITV 1's Britain's Got Talent. DIP, together with Arlene Phillips, Universal and ITV Productions, is currently producing a new musical drama series for ITV 1 called Britannia High, with music by Gary Barlow, scheduled for transmission in October this year. David Ians producing credits include: West End: Saturday Night Fever - London Palladium, The King and I - London Palladium, Grease - Dominion, Cambridge, Victoria Palace, Piccadilly, Defending the Caveman Apollo, Aint Misbehavin' Lyric, Daisy Pulls It Off Lyric, Anything Goes Theatre Royal Drury Lane, The Producers Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Guys and Dolls Piccadilly. UK Tours: Grease, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pirates of Penzance, Rocky Horror Show, Singin' in the Rain, Evita, Chess, Dr Dolittle, The King and I, West Side Story, Cats, Chicago, Starlight Express, My Fair Lady, The New Statesman, The Producers. Broadway and US: Grease currently at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, My Fair Lady (North American tour) and Phantom The Vegas Spectacular at the Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas. Australia: Arena productions of Grease and Happy Days the Musical. The Laurence Olivier Awards from 1996 1999 for the Society of London Theatre. David was the Chairman of Global Theatre for Live Nation until 2007. He appeared on the TV casting programmes How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria and Grease Is The Word in the UK and You're The One That I Want for NBC in the United States.
